Rail Travel for the over 50’s
There are discounts galore for older people. (please note this is often confined to pension age or above). Maybe you want a rail holiday as you are fed up of flying or just want the train to take the strain. Buying a ticket from the ticket office on the day is the worst way of getting the best deal and you may have to interrogate the clerk to get an idea of all the ticket types available. Automated ticket machines are often worse as they only list a selection of different types. So the rule of thumb is buy in advance to get the best deals but hurry as numbers are limited.
