Online Publishing for over 50’s

The internet has given a wealth of opportunity for people to publish their own work rather than going through traditional outlets. You could publish a book, fiction or otherwise and sell it via Kindle or the Amazon bookstore. You could write a blog (or Vlog – a video blog) about your life or your interests just for fun but remember some people become famous just because what they write is so interesting or strikes a chord with a specific group of people and you might become rich (or you might not!) Podcasts are a bit old school now but basically think radio programme done by someone which can be listened to over a personal music player or phone.

These can be from large broadcasters or universities down to individuals like you. Talking of video’s you can put your work onto You Tube (owned by Google) for free. It might be your holiday film but it might be you playing the Flight of the Bumblebee on your best wine glasses or it might be your latest epic. There is so much out there already and I suggest you take a look.

“Nowadays, the Internet decides if you’re good, not the big man in the big office. No matter how important that man thinks he is, everyone else knows that he’s not important anymore, and the Internet decides these things, here in the modern age.”
